Introduction to the Wavecom Fastrack Supreme Modem

The ModMax is an Industrial Serial Modem available from Wavecom for the GSM network. When used with the DT80, you can dial in to connect to program the DT80, and download data.


To dial in and download data, you will need a data number. Call your telecommunications provider for this.
Further information including the AT command Manual for the Wavecom Fastrack Supreme can be found on the Wavecom website www.wavecom.com.

How do I Configure the Wavecom Fastrack Supreme for the DT80?

Connect to the Fastrack Supreme using the standard Wavecom 15pin to 9pin cable, and a terminal software package such as DeTransfer. Configure the connection to be Hardware flow control, and at 115200 baud, the default baud rate for the Fastrack Supreme.

Send the following commands.

  1. AT&F0
    Place the modem in factory defaults mode
  2. AT&S0
    DSR is always ON
  3. AT&D2
    Hang up when DTR goes inactive
  4. ATS0=4
    Automatically answer a call after 4 rings
  5. AT&C1
    DCD line follows the carrier state
  6. AT+IFC=2,2
    Set the flow control to be hardware flow control
  7. AT+ICF=3,4
    Set the port to be 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, parity none
  8. AT\N5
    Select MNP error correction mode
    NOTE : Using DeTransfer the command is AT\\N5
  9. AT+IPR=57600
    Set the baud rate to 57600
    NOTE : Now disconnect and reconnect at 57600 baud
  10. ATE0
    Characters are not echoed
  11. ATQ1
    Set the modem to quite mode
  12. AT&W
    Store the settings in the profile


How do I configure the DT80 for the Wavecom Fastrack Supreme Modem?

Set the profile on the DT80 to the following

PROFILE"HOST_MODEM" "INIT"="AT"

PROFILE"HOST_PORT" "FLOW"="HARDWARE"

So the Profile for the DT80 under the Host Modem section and the Host Port section will look like the following.
