Compiled Help Files

Lots of Windows© programs use what is known as Compiled Help Files. These files have file extension of CHM and are opened when you access a program online Help.

Due to a new Microsoft security patch if the program has been installed on a network drive or if the help is being opened across the internet it might not open correctly.  For example, the index will appear but the page contents won't.

The only real work around for the average user is to copy the help files onto your local hard drive and open them there.  This will mean that the Help
button will not function correctly.

The other option is to contact your network administrator and point them to this Microsoft article   http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896358
They will then be able to modify your computer to run the remote files.
