Checking the FTP data queue

Postby Juergen » Fri Mar 03, 2017 7:23 pm

Hi,
I'm using a solar powered DT82E with an external GPRS router to transmitt data via FTP once per day.
To save power I switch on the modem with 1RELAY=1 a few minutes before starting the COPYD command.
The relay should be switched off after data are transmitted successfully to the server.

How can I check if the FTP data queue is empty?
SESSION LIST command shows the state of the queue, but how can I check it within a schedule do switch the relay off?

The 29SV only shows the result of the last unload, but not if the FTP transmission is completed.
The 85SV always reports "2", independent thereof if a FTP session is queued or not.

Please help
Kind regards

Hi Juergen,

There is a variable that may enable you to check whether the transmission is OK or not.
You may use either 1SV (free space in internal memory) or 2SV (used space in internal memory).
Every time FTP sequence is triggered, a file will be created in UNLOAD folder which consume free memory.
By detecting free memory movement you can create indirect detection to FTP transfer status.

Hi Rudy,
thank you for your reply.
Your solution could work. I'm out of the office for some days and will check it asap.
Kind regards
